Eight values, and what each one costs.
Values are only real when they change a decision. Each of these has a practical consequence for how we work.
Faith
We begin in prayer and hold to Scripture as our standard, even when it is inconvenient.
Integrity
Accounts are open, promises are kept, and we would rather lose an opportunity than misrepresent a result.
Service
Position is a responsibility, not a reward. Leaders here are expected to do the unglamorous work too.
Unity
Across denomination, region, ethnicity and class. We name what we share before we debate what we don't.
Excellence
Good intentions are not a substitute for good work. Programmes are designed, delivered and evaluated properly.
Compassion
We start where need is greatest, not where recognition is easiest to obtain.
Patriotism
Love of country expressed through contribution and honest criticism, never through partisanship.
Innovation
Old convictions, current methods. Technology and evidence are used wherever they make the work better.
How our values shape our decisions.
We do not launch a programme we cannot staff, fund and evaluate. A smaller programme done properly is preferred to a large one announced well.
Partners are assessed on conduct as well as capacity. We decline partnerships that require partisan alignment or compromise our stated boundaries.
Every cedi received is recorded against a purpose, and reported. Where funds are given for a specific project, they are used only for that project.
Leaders are appointed on character, competence and track record of service — not on prominence, wealth or connection. Terms are fixed and accountability is written down.
Communities decide their own priorities. We bring capacity to what local people have already identified, rather than arriving with a solution looking for a problem.
Targets are labelled as targets and results as results. We publish what did not work alongside what did.
Values are tested by participation, not agreement.
Read the declaration that puts these commitments into words, then decide where you want to serve.
